Magic Valley Business Security Summit presented by First Federal Bank.

Complimentary Half-Day Conference to Cover Latest Business Security Best Practices

The 2023 Magic Valley Business Security Summit, presented by First Federal Bank, will occur on Thursday, November 16, at the College of Southern Idaho. The event, free to business owners and their staff, will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in CSI’s Fine Arts Building. Multiple security topics will be covered, including information technology security, external fraud, and internal controls. Closing out the summit, FBI Special Agent Jared Thompson will deliver a keynote presentation on recent financial crimes and trends impacting businesses in the area.

Mike Worthington, Chief Risk Officer at First Federal Bank, stated, “Prior to the pandemic, we offered similar educational opportunities to our business community. Unfortunately, with the continued advancement and sophistication of the fraud we are seeing, we thought it was critical to bring this programming back.”

Businesses without a security policy or those that have not recently reviewed their fraud procedures are highly encouraged to take part in the summit. Attendees will leave with the tools and awareness to better protect their business, customers, and employees.

“Business security is a collective effort, requiring diligence at all employee levels,” shared Chris Reid, Director of Treasury Management at First Federal Bank. “This summit will equip businesses with the knowledge to be more prepared for fraudulent activities and how to avoid becoming a victim.”
