16 organizations to receive funding to support community projects and assistance.

The First Federal Foundation announced today that it will be contributing $62,215 to 16 organizations and charities located throughout the Magic and Treasure Valleys. Each year, the Foundation offers two grant application periods, one in the summer and one in the winter. The funding provided during this most recent application period marks the largest amount ever. In addition, total contributions made by the Foundation, since its inception in 2003, have now surpassed $1.3 million. “The Foundation’s impact on our local communities and, Idaho overall, has been really rewarding to see,” stated Jason A. Meyerhoeffer, President and CEO of First Federal Bank. “We are proud of the Foundation’s work and its role in helping to further the Bank’s community-centric mindset and approach.”

The Foundation also received a record number of funding requests during this application period. Foundation grants are awarded for a variety of community projects, enhancements, and assistance initiatives. Criteria for selecting recipients include whether it is a capital project, community impact potential, any humanitarian consideration, if matching funds have been obtained, the project plan and timeline, the overall budget, and background or project objectives. “We enjoyed the opportunity to review so many worthy applications,” said Lori Ward, President of the First Federal Foundation Board. “The selection process was difficult because of the outstanding work each of these organizations do on behalf of our community. We look forward to continuing to fund requests and, hopefully even more in the future.”
