WOW 104.3 Country Cares for St. Jude

On December 8th and 9th, First Federal Bank was proud to sponsor the two-day radiothon Country Cares for St. Jude. Boise's WOW 104.3 country hosted the two-day event. Listeners were encouraged to call in and donate to the lifesaving mission of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Families receive care free of charge for their children at St. Jude, so fundraisers like these are critical to ensure kids who need it most get the care they need.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is internationally recognized for pioneering research and treatment of children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The hospital's research has helped push overall survival rates for childhood cancer from less than 20 percent when the institution opened to almost 80 percent today.

This year, $105,000 was raised during the radiothon!

Wreaths Across America

Each December, on National Wreaths Across America Day, the mission to remember, honor, and teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at National Cemeteries in all 50 US states, at sea, and abroad. This year First Federal bought 120 wreaths for the Rock Creek Veterans Cemetery. On Saturday, December 17, at 1:00 pm, about 15 volunteers and a full-color guard held the Ceremony of the Wreaths. They had a moment of silence for the over 19,000 soldiers, either declared POW or MIA. A wreath was presented for every military branch, and wreaths were laid on each grave. The soldiers' names and ranks were read aloud, we thanked them for their service, and a total of 130 wreaths were laid in this amazingly touching experience ceremony.
