A Banker Business Owners Can Count On

After 30 years in banking, Deanna Brock has learned that some of the strongest banking relationships start with something simple: being there when a customer needs you.

Deanna, Senior Business Banker at First Federal Bank, began her career as a teller while attending college. Over the years, she has worked in a variety of roles, building experience across different areas of banking. Last year, she stepped into business banking and found a role that allows her to focus on what she enjoys most—helping people.

“I absolutely love it,” Deanna says. “I get to work day to day with business owners and their employees.”

For Deanna, good business banking should allow owners to spend less time worrying about their banking and more time focused on what they do best.

“A business owner’s goal is to run their business and be successful,” she says. “They shouldn’t be having to worry about what’s going on with their banking on a daily basis.”

Understanding the Business Behind the Account

One of Deanna’s favorite parts of working with local businesses is getting to know the people behind them.

“One of my favorite things about working with local businesses in this area is getting to know the owners, getting to know their business and their passion,” she says.

Those conversations help Deanna understand how each business operates and where she can make a difference. Sometimes that means helping solve a problem. Other times, it means finding a better way to handle an everyday banking process.

“Not every business works the same. Not every business has the same needs,” Deanna says. “If we need to change something up, we can.”

With local decision-making at First Federal, Deanna and her team can work closely with business owners to find solutions that make sense for their individual needs.

Someone in Your Corner

Whether a business is looking to expand, explore lending options, manage deposits or make its day-to-day processes easier, Deanna wants customers to know they have someone they can turn to.

“We have so many things that we can help them with, whether it be lending, deposits or just making their day easier, making their processes easier,” she says.

For Deanna, that personal connection is what makes serving businesses throughout Idaho, especially the Treasure Valley, so rewarding.

“My passion truly is helping people,” she says. “I don’t like for our customers to have pain points.”

After three decades in banking, Deanna’s approach comes down to being accessible, responsive and dependable.

“I really want to be that person that they can reach out to and they know I’m going to answer the phone, they know I’m going to reply to email, and they can trust me.”

For the business owners she serves, that means having more than a place to bank. It means having a local banker who knows their business, understands their goals and is ready to help when they need it.
