Ottertank Sights and Sounds

The Spring 2026 OtterTank Showcase at College of Western Idaho brought energy, innovation, and community collaboration to the Nampa Campus Academic Building on April 22. Presented by First Federal Bank, the event featured entrepreneurs from across the Treasure Valley pitching business ideas through interactive displays, elevator pitches, and live presentations inspired by Shark Tank. From high school students to seasoned professionals, participants showcased ventures rooted in creativity, problem-solving, and purpose.

“Our spring OtterTank was our biggest one ever! We were thrilled with the entrepreneurs who ranged from juniors in high school all the way up to people in their 60s—each one passionate about their business venture,” said Kenton Lee, Director of the Entrepreneur Lab. “It was an inspiring event full of energy, ideas, and hard work. My favorite part was seeing a young entrepreneur gain more confidence with each conversation. So proud of him! Can’t wait to do it again in the fall.”

Taking home the $3,000 Grand Prize and Crowd Favorite award was PurposeBuilt PCs, a teen-led business created by Jacoby Morrissey, Nathan McLaren, and Isaiah McDonald. Their company focuses on custom-built computers tailored to individual needs, offering consulting, building, cleaning, and troubleshooting services. By working directly with clients’ budgets and intended uses, the team delivers personalized technology solutions designed for students, professionals, and everyday users, not just gamers.

Additional winners included Hardymade, LLC and Windforce Interactive ($1,000), Katelyn Myers Photographer, Gutierrez Family Farms, TakeItEZ.biz, and Rash Leadership Development ($500), and Humanitarian Aid & Support Network (HASNet), Mill Creek Machine, LLC, and Stephanie Walker ($250).

“Like CWI, First Federal believes in the spirit of entrepreneurship—it’s what drives our communities forward,” said Jason Meyerhoeffer, President and CEO of First Federal Bank. “Being part of events like OtterTank and seeing these ideas come to life is incredibly rewarding. We are so excited to continue our partnership and support future innovators across Idaho.”

With its largest turnout to date, OtterTank continues to demonstrate the power of mentorship, community support, and bold ideas, helping shape the future of innovation across Idaho.
