2025 First Federal Bank Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournaments Quickly Approaching

The 2025 editions of the First Federal Bank Rock, Paper, Scissors “Tournament of Champions” events are slated for the coming weeks in both the Treasure and the Magic Valleys. On Thursday, September 4 the first tournament will occur in Meridian at the Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park Bandshell. Two weeks later, the Magic Valley version will take place at the Twin Falls Downtown Commons. Both tournaments begin at 6 p.m. and the public is encouraged to attend to cheer on the competitors. Each tournament will include 32 local businesses battling for prize money to benefit the charity of their choice. In addition to the entertaining competition, spectators will be able to enjoy food trucks and other vendors that help create a street fair atmosphere.

“Our Rock, Paper, Scissors tournaments have turned into traditions that businesses, charities, and the public look forward to annually,” stated Nick Popplewell, Chief Marketing Officer for First Federal Bank. “Each year, with the help of our business partners, we are able to contribute tens of thousands to local charities through these unique events. They are definitely not your typical fundraiser.”

To participate, businesses pay an entry fee of $250 which is then matched by First Federal Bank to create the prize pools. Businesses are then placed in a bracket and begin a best of three, single elimination competition of rock, paper, scissors.  1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place finishes are awarded as well as cash prizes for the best team introduction and a consolation drawing. Overall, $32,000 will be given away to charities.

The Twin Falls Chamber of Commerce, who won 2nd place in the Magic Valley tournament last year, shared their thoughts after participating, “Great event! Thank you (First Federal Bank) for giving money and providing awareness to all the great charities in our area.”
